Welcome to The Studio

Hi, I’m Joe — artist, writer, recovering lunatic. My work lives at the intersection of creativity and healing. Painting and writing are the mediums I've chosen to express myself, but really I think that we're all coming from the same place of longing - for peace, presence and connection.

This site is more than just a place to look at paintings. It’s a living studio space — a place where I explore the emotional and spiritual dimensions of life through art, writing, and reflection. A place where I try, imperfectly, to 'create sobriety'.

By sobriety, I don’t just mean abstaining from substances. I mean learning how to live — how to be in a body, in a mind, in a life that sometimes feels too loud or too quiet. I mean building something true from the inside out. Sobriety, to me, is synonymous with a searching sincerity - to uncover our true meaning unclouded by things outside of ourselves. Self-development is, as they say, an inside job.

Why I Make Things

"I paint because it gets me out of my head and into my body.
Sometimes it gets me further into my head — and that’s not a good thing.
But eventually, it comes right if I just keep going."

Art has always been my way through. It’s how I listen to the deeper parts of myself. It’s a way of moving energy, making sense, or just staying here.

I believe creativity is one of the most underused tools in healing. You don’t have to be an “artist” to make something that matters. You just have to be honest.

Video Introduction Coming Soon

I’ll be recording a short video soon to introduce this space more personally — because some things are better said than written.

What This Is (and Isn’t)

This isn’t a course. It’s not therapy. And I’m not trying to be a guru.
This is just a studio — open, honest, human — where I share what’s helped me, in case it helps you too.

Welcome.
